Sarafan Terms of Use

1. Agreement
These Terms govern access to the Sarafan website, mobile applications, and related services (the “Service”). Sarafan is a project operated by:

In these Terms, “Sarafan,” “Sarafan Project,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator and the Service.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived remain unaffected.
2. What Sarafan does
Sarafan helps people and businesses present what they do, discover services, exchange recommendations and referrals, and identify useful paths through trusted networks. Sarafan provides discovery and communication technology. Unless separate written terms expressly say otherwise, Sarafan:
- is not an employer, employment agency, contractor, broker, agent, insurer, professional association, or party to a transaction between users;
- does not set the price, scope, payment, schedule, warranty, tax treatment, or other terms of a user's work;
- does not guarantee a user's identity, qualifications, licensing, conduct, availability, quality, legality, safety, or results;
- does not guarantee that a recommendation, referral, graph connection, ranking, verification marker, or profile statement is complete or accurate.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 and legally able to agree to these Terms. If local law requires a higher age or additional authorization, that rule applies. If you use Sarafan for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it, and “you” includes that organization.
The Service may not be available everywhere. You are responsible for laws that apply to you and to any services you provide or purchase.
4. Accounts
Provide accurate information, keep it current, protect your credentials, and promptly report unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account except where applicable law provides otherwise. You may not sell, rent, transfer, or share an account in a misleading or insecure way.
We may request reasonable verification to prevent impersonation, fraud, or abuse. Any verification marker confirms only the fact specifically described by that marker.
5. Profiles, services, and transactions
Professionals and businesses are responsible for the accuracy of their profiles and for their services, representations, qualifications, licenses, permits, insurance, prices, invoices, taxes, and legal compliance. Customers are responsible for evaluating whom to engage and agreeing directly on commercial terms.
Any agreement for work is between the relevant users. Resolve scope, price, payment, cancellation, warranties, safety, access to property, and dispute arrangements before work begins. Sarafan does not currently process payments between customers and professionals and is not responsible for money paid outside a Sarafan payment feature.
6. Recommendations, referrals, and network paths
Only make recommendations or referrals that reflect a genuine relationship, experience, or good-faith reason. Do not buy, sell, fabricate, manipulate, coordinate, or conceal endorsements. Disclose a material personal or commercial interest when it could affect how others interpret your recommendation.
A network path means only that Sarafan detected permitted relationship signals. It does not prove that every person in the path knows, recommends, or consents to introduce every other person. Do not use network information to harass, pressure, surveil, or expose anyone.
If you enable contact matching, you authorize the app to process your address book for the disclosed network purpose and confirm that you are legally permitted to do so. Sarafan handles readable contacts and pseudonymous relationship signals as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Sarafan a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, technically adapt, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate, improve, protect, and present the Service, subject to your visibility settings and the Privacy Policy. The license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for reasonable backup periods, lawful retention, and copies independently made by others.
You confirm that you have all rights and permissions needed for your content, including images, names, trademarks, customer information, testimonials, and depictions of other people. Do not publish confidential information or personal data you are not authorized to disclose.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use Sarafan to:
- impersonate, deceive, defraud, threaten, harass, discriminate against, exploit, or endanger anyone;
- publish unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually exploitative, violent, or privacy-invasive material;
- facilitate illegal, unlicensed, deceptive, or unsafe services;
- fabricate recommendations, reviews, credentials, transactions, or relationships;
- spam people, send unauthorized marketing, or misuse contact or graph information;
- scrape, harvest, sell, or compile profiles, contacts, graph data, or other users' information;
- bypass access controls, probe security, introduce malware, reverse engineer restricted parts of the Service, or disrupt its operation;
- automate access except through interfaces expressly authorized by Sarafan;
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, consumer, or other rights;
- help another person violate these rules.
9. Reporting, blocking, and moderation
Use available reporting and blocking tools or email info@usesarafan.com with the subject “Safety report” to report harmful users or content. We may review reports, limit visibility, remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve relevant records, and cooperate with lawful authorities. We may act without advance notice where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, or service integrity.
Moderation involves judgment and cannot prevent every harmful interaction. Exercise appropriate caution before sharing personal information, paying money, meeting someone, or allowing access to a home or workplace.
10. Sarafan intellectual property
The Service, software, design, branding, databases, and content supplied by Sarafan are protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
If you provide feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you as its source without permission.
11. Third-party services
The Service may contain links, integrations, or content from third parties. Their terms and policies govern their services. Sarafan does not control and is not responsible for independent third parties.
12. Paid features
Sarafan does not currently charge for the core Service. Before introducing subscriptions, commissions, promoted placement, or other paid features, we will disclose price, taxes, renewal, cancellation, refund, and payment terms as required by law and applicable app-store rules.
13. Suspension, termination, and deletion
You may stop using Sarafan at any time. You may request account deletion through Settings → Account → Delete account, at https://usesarafan.com/support/delete-account, or by emailing info@usesarafan.com with the subject “Delete my Sarafan account.”
We may restrict or terminate access for violation of these Terms, risk to users or the Service, legal requirements, prolonged inactivity, or discontinuation. Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to appeal. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute terms—will survive.
14. Service changes and availability
Sarafan is an evolving project. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Where law or a paid commitment requires notice, continuity, a refund, or another remedy, we will provide it.
15. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Sarafan disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or remedies that applicable consumer law makes mandatory.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sarafan and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunity; or conduct, services, transactions, content, or disputes involving other users or third parties.
For claims not lawfully excluded, Sarafan's aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Sarafan during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or EUR 100. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.
17. Indemnity for business use
If you use Sarafan for a business or professional purpose, you will indemnify the operator against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your services, content, unlawful conduct, or breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law. This clause does not apply to consumers where prohibited.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with territorial jurisdiction for Novi Sad, Serbia will have jurisdiction, except that consumers retain any mandatory right to bring a claim in another competent court under applicable law.
Before filing a claim, email info@usesarafan.com with the subject “Legal matter” and a concise description so the parties can attempt a good-faith resolution. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief or using a regulator, consumer body, small-claims procedure, or another remedy that cannot lawfully be restricted.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, law, or risk. We will post revised Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice when a change is material. If consent is legally required, a change will not bind you without it.
20. General
If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays effective and the provision will be applied as closely as law permits. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer these Terms as part of a lawful organizational or service transfer, subject to applicable rights. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any feature-specific terms form the agreement concerning the Service.
